The Project Explained to Our Children
Economic and climate jargon can be complex and discouraging. However, the idea behind the Neutral Project is simple and can be understood by everyone. We wrote this explanation in simple words, as we would for a child, because we are convinced that the solutions for the future must belong to all generations.
A New Leader for the Climate:
This money would be given to a new special team at the UN (the United Nations, where all countries talk to each other). This team would be like the "head of the carbon department," and its job would be to distribute the collected money to the best projects that heal the planet.
A Tiny Magic Tax:
Every time banks and very large companies trade huge sums of money very, very quickly (thousands of times per second!), we would ask them to give a tiny piece of that money. It's like taking a single grain of sand from a vast beach. For them, it's almost nothing, but since they do it all the time, it would create a mountain of money to help the planet.
A Great Game for Companies:
We would also create a sort of "calculator" that would give a grade to all the companies in the world, just like in school. Those that pollute a lot would get a bad grade, and those that make an effort would get a good grade. This would encourage them to become good students for the planet.
In summary, the Neutral Project wants to create a giant global piggy bank by taking a tiny bit of money from the wealthiest to fund major projects to heal the Earth and encourage everyone to pollute less.
